MashUp - Institute of Contemporary Arts, London
MashUp celebrated the hybrid culture created by sampling, cutting up and overlaying music and visuals to create unique sounds and experiences.
Throughout one year, the ICA, together with guest curator Artist Harold Offeh ran a series of artist led projects, workshops and digital platforms with students from PIP (supporting young adults with learning difficulties) to explore hands-on learning surrounding food, design, music and dance. Lead participating creatives included : artist Harold Offeh, chef Leila McAlister, graphic design group Nous Vous, choreographer Robert Hylton and object design duo Markus Bergström and Joe Nunn of Glass Hill.
MashUp culminated in a final club night at the ICA showcasing performance, dining and a design shop developed as well as presented by PIP students. The final evening open to the public included live performances by Sampha, Glass Diamond, Lizzie Emeh, Matt Synthia, Pixie Le Knot, and guest DJs.
